AT&T AICS
The Illuminiating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) - Pittsburgh
Chapter awarded Carlins Consutling the International
Illumination Design Award (IIDA) for this project.
The main customer service center for this part of the country required a design
which provided a functional, yet pleasant work environment for employees. AT&T
has always been a forward thinking company and realized the importance of lighting
in the space.
Low ceilings and large rooms required a design solution different from typical
ceiling mounted linear fluorescent luminaires. Partition mounted indirect lighting
provided the ideal solution for this environment.
The final design exceeded all IES standards for VDT environments. The architect
enjoyed the "forest of luminaries" which helped to break up the large
expanse of cubicles.
The project was also featured in Vol. 1, No. 2 of Scope, the call center design newsletter published by KSBA. |
