Portfolio: Auma Actuators
Auma Actuator is part of a German Company, so a European impression in the
space was important. The high quality design of their space was to be impressive
to both their clients and their German owners.
Actuators are a geared mechanism and the compact fluorescent chandelier in
the lobby accentuates this connection to their product as you enter the building.
Low voltage decorative MR-16 track heads are mimicked with compact fluorescent
downlights with locally manufactured custom trims in the corridors. Another track
head with a custom gobo emblazons their name at the reception area.
A high quality training center with videoconference capability was critical
to their communications strategy with the parent organization in Germany.
A single luminaire in the conference rooms provides direct and indirect lighting
with controls to provide for all meeting needs. A variety of complimentary linear
direct/indirect luminaires provide a glare free work environment for this heavily
computerized VDT environment. The monotony which can occur from using too much
of the same luminaire was eliminated.
Proper illumination levels were maintained throughout the facility. All linear
indirect lighting utilizes T5 and T5HO fluorescent lamps. A low voltage control
system provides the owner with a single button control for all or part of the
building. The power density was only 1 watt per square foot. |
