Portfolio: Redleaf Innovations
Redleaf Innovations was the conversion of a three story turn of the century
post and beam horse stable in Pittsburgh's Strip District to a high tech
flexible corporate office space. The lighting design of the top two floors, which
were the headquarters, had to provide the feel of high technology while
maintaining the charm of the original building. VDT's were a major component
of the work environment in this office, as well as in the break areas, so glare
free lighting was important at every location in the facility. To this client,
glare free did not mean uniform and boring. Sparkle was also important. The space
had to be fun.
The first floor was multi-tenant office space for start-up high-tech companies
being groomed by Redleaf Innovations' venture capital group. To Redleaf
Innovations, the lighting design for these tenant spaces had to be the same quality
as the corporate offices above.
The critical nature of this high-tech business required back-up systems (emergency
generator and UPS) to insure uninterrupted power in all situations for all critical
loads. The power quality of the electrical system was also given consideration
to prevent problems. TVSS and additional grounding was included in the project. |
